Snowstorm on March 21

The snow started falling on Friday, March 21 and continued until the morning of March 22. During the day on Saturday the sun came out and the snow began to melt. Maybe we will have a warm Easter Sunday after all!

I was happy Don shoveled the driveway and cleaned all the snow off my car so I could go to work on Saturday. The roads were bad on the way to work but then on the way home they were clear. I hope spring is here to stay.

Jacob's Birthday Party

Nadine and Don planned an early birthday party for Jacob while I was there. I was happy to be part of his birthday celebration. I was happy that he remembered who I was! I guess that picture on the fridge helped after all!

Sophie's Blessing Day, March 2

Sophie's blessing day was special to me because first of all I got to come. I was so happy that I was able to work everything out and come. Also because it was on my Dad's birthday!

Trip to Utah, February 26-March 4

I visited the family in Utah from February 26-March 4. There were so many things that I did and I will try to list all of them.

Tuesday I left for the airport very early. It was a stormy, snowy day and travel was hazardous. I got to Michigan City safely and I was grateful for that. The parking lot at the Holiday Inn where I was going to leave the car was not plowed. When I attempted to park in one of the few vacant parking spots left, the car got stuck but luckily it was in the parking space far enough to leave it. I caught the bus to the airport and got there in plenty of time for my flight but my flight was late taking off because of bad weather in Florida. I surprised about that because the weather in Chicago was great. So I arrived in Salt Lake City a couple of hours later than planned. Margaret and Melanie picked me up at the airport and I stayed at the Bush's that night.

Wednesday was a great day. I spent a little time with Margaret, Rob and family in the morning. Later that day I got to see Don, Nadine and Jacob and Margo. I was happy that Jacob remembered that I was his Grandma! Margo and I played with Jacob while Don and Nadine went out for their anniversary. I spent the night at Don and Nadine's house and the next day was happy to be able to go to the doctor appointment and see the baby on the monitor during the ultrasound. Margo, Chrissy and Patrick came over later in the day too. Thursday night I went to Chrissy's apartment and she and Patrick made dinner for us. The taco salad was yummy.

Friday I spent the day at the Bushs. Ida, Amber, Madison, Margaret, Nadine, Jacob, Melanie and Margaret were there. (I hope I didn't forget anyone.) I had a great time visiting with everyone. Friday night Melanie, Chrissy, Jimmy and I went to the Jordan River Temple and did baptisms for over 40 of the Milham family.

Saturday was a big day. In the morning Paul picked me up and we went to breakfast with Harmony, Paul and Sophie. After that we went to Jacob's birthday party. We had lots of fun there and had fun watching Jacob open his presents. After that we went to eat at Famous Dave's. It was delicious! And than after that back to Bush's house.

Sunday was Sophie's blessing day. We went to Harmony and Paul's ward (Foothill Third Ward) and saw and heard Sophie's blessing from her Daddy. I was happy I could be there. After church we went to Taylorsville to a ward building for a dinner hosted by the Smith family. It was delicious dinner and we able to visit with the relatives and get to know them better.
After the dinner I went to Harmony and Paul's apartment and visiting with them and Sophie for a while. Then I went back to Bush's for the evening.

Monday I went to help Nadine with Jacob for his doctor appointment. I don't know that I was much help but enjoyed spending the time with them. Later that night I went to Evelyn and Claron's home for dinner. We had a good time visiting.

Tuesday morning Margaret and I woke up early and went to the Jordan River Temple to do some ordinances for the Milham Family. Later I was back at the airport ready to go home. The time went by quickly and I didn't get to do all I wanted to do or spend as much time as I wanted to with everyone (I think doing that would mean a permanent residence in Utah).

I had a great time and am thankful for all the kindness everyone showed to me.

I love all of you and miss you lots!

SAMUEL WILLIAM MILHAM IS BORN TODAY

Here are some pictures that Margo sent me of Sam when he was not even a day old. I am waiting for the day when
can meet him in person!

I haven't seen pictures yet but Samuel William (middle name is not for sure) was born this morning at 7:32 (MDST). He weighted 7 pounds and 13 ounces and is 21 1/2 inches long. Congratulations to the proud parents, Nadine and Don and the big brother Jacob. We can't wait to meet Sam!
